Erratic Driving Exposes Suspect's Contraband

A Texas man was arrested on drug and DUI charges early Wednesday morning after a police officer observed his vehicle with an inoperable headlight and erratic driving.

At approximately 2:45 a.m. on September 4, Master Patrol Officer Peydon Griffith with the Atoka Police Department observed a silver Infiniti with a broken driver-side headlight and began to follow it. According to the police report, the vehicle, driven by Logan Pace, repeatedly crossed over lane lines on Highway 69 before the officer initiated a traffic stop.

Upon contact, Officer Griffith noted that Pace's speech was slurred and that he was slow to respond to questions. The officer also detected a strong odor of marijuana and alcohol coming from Pace and his vehicle. A visible marijuana cigarette was located in the center console's ashtray.
