Drunk Driving with Children Alleged After Atoka Traffic Stop

Atoka Police arrested a woman on Thursday night for driving under the influence and child endangerment after a traffic stop revealed she was allegedly driving while intoxicated with two children in the car.

On September 11th, Officer Christian Shomo observed a silver Nissan sedan speeding at 55 MPH in a 45 MPH zone on Highway 69 near the Atoka Museum. The vehicle, driven by Chloe Worthington, also had a defective taillight and was observed drifting onto the shoulder before correcting back onto the road.

Upon stopping the vehicle, Officer Shomo noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from inside. Worthington, who was with two other adults and two small children in the car, struggled with her balance as she exited the vehicle. The Officer observed her stagger and bumped into the rear of her vehicle.
