Teams Bring Home Hardware from Wright City Tournament

Both the Atoka Lady Wampus Cats and the Caney Lady Cougars took home hardware on Sept. 20 at the Wright City Tournament. Caney went undefeated (4-0) and defeated Rattan 9-1 in the championship game. Atoka had a record of 5-2 at the tournament and took third place after a 3-2 loss to Rattan.

For the Lady Cougars it was the team's second consecutive weekend with a championship as they also went undefeated at the Caney Fall Classic (Sept. 11-13).

Caney opened the Wright City Tournament playing Atoka on Sept. 18, where the Lady Cougars used a 8-run fourth inning to claim a 9-1 victory. The 8-run inning was capped off by a Morgan Darrell three-run home run. The next day, Caney defeated Smithville 6-0 in four innings to advance to the semi-finals.
