A traffic stop for tailgating and illegal lane use led to the arrest of a Texas woman who exhibited signs of being on stimulant and admitted to consuming methamphetamine shortly before driving her vehicle.
On Saturday, September 27th, at approximately 7:46 PM, Atoka Police Officer Cheyenne Gilbert observed a white Nissan Sentra, with Texas plates, traveling on Highway 69/75 following a pickup truck too closely and crossing the yellow lane line. The officer initiated a traffic stop near Lake Road.
The driver, identified as Gabriell Hampton, immediately exhibited signs of impairment that were observed by Officer Gilbert. Her movements were uncontrollable, her speech was very fast and stuttering, and her motor skills appeared heightened. A torch lighter, consistent with drug use, was seen in the passenger seat.
