Woman Charged with Contraband After Discovery in Prosthetic Leg

Failing to use a turn signal led to the arrest of a woman with an active felony warrant, who was subsequently charged with bringing a controlled substance into the Atoka County Jail.

On Saturday, October 4th, at approximately 1:15 AM, Atoka Police Officer Grady Blackwood observed a Ford F-150 driving near the intersection of South Virginia Ave and failed to signal its intention to turn 100 feet prior to turning onto South Walker Drive, prompting a traffic stop.

The driver, identified as Brandi Nichole Tate (also known as Brandi Seckman Tate), was nervous and speaking very fast. Tate admitted she did not have a valid driver's license, telling the officer it was suspended. She then made several concerning statements, including, 'Please don't take me to jail tonight,' and 'Please don't run my name,' advising Officer Blackwood that she had outstanding warrants.
