A man is facing allegations of assault after police responded to a report of a physical altercation at a local residence on McKinley Drive Saturday evening.
At approximately 7:30 PM on October 4th, Atoka County Dispatch received a distress call, hearing a woman screaming in the background. Upon arrival, an Atoka Police Officer Brewer found homeowner Johnnie Colbert arguing with the victim, who was on the ground in the driveway.
As the officer approached the victim, who appeared to be crying and in distress, stating she had not stolen anything. Colbert interjected, stating, 'I was just trying to get my $40 dollars back.' The woman repeatedly stated that she and Colbert were only friends and that she wanted to go home.
