A Texas man was arrested in Atoka early Saturday morning, November 22, 2025, and booked on a felony charge after allegedly driving at speeds over 90 mph while impaired on U.S. Highway 69.
At approximately 12:36 AM, Atoka Police Officer Zachary Rice was stationary while watching traffic when he clocked a dark-colored mid-size SUV traveling at 78 mph in a posted 55 mph zone.
Officer Rice noted the vehicle subsequently increased speed, estimating the driver reached in excess of 90 mph before acknowledging the patrol unit's emergency lights.
