Thanks to Massive Search Effort
A massive multi-agency search concluded successfully in the early frigid morning of November 30, 2025, after a 70-year-old local man was located alive near McGee Creek Lake. The man, missing since November 29th, survived over 12 hours in freezing conditions with the help of his loyal schnauzer.
The extensive search effort was launched after the Atoka County Sheriff's Office issued a BOLO for Jerry Chesman, 70, who was last seen going for a walk from his residence near The Dam Store around 4:30 PM on Friday, November 29th, accompanied by his dog, Daisy.
