Landowners across Southeast Oklahoma are invited to a kickoff interest meeting on Saturday, January 24, 2026, to discuss the startup of a regional Prescribed Burn Association (PBA).
The event, hosted by the Boggy Depot Quail Forever Chapter, will take place from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Sobol Community Center.
The meeting is designed for residents of Atoka, Bryan, Coal, Choctaw, Johnston, Haskell, Latimer, LeFlore, McCurtain, Pittsburg, and Pushmataha counties. These associations allow neighbors to pool resources, equipment, and labor to safely conduct prescribed burns, which are essential for wildfire prevention and wildlife habitat management.
