Welfare Check at Colonial Motel Leads to Felony Firearm Arrest

EditorA 911 call regarding a woman in distress led Atoka Police to the Colonial Motel on January 10, 2026, resulting in the arrest of a federal felon on weapons and drug charges.

Officers initially arrived at the motel on North Mississippi Avenue to check on Jalee Stafford (also known as Eoff), who had contacted dispatch. While speaking with Lt. Jimmy Taylor, Stafford alerted the officer to the presence of two firearms inside room #111.

Stafford granted officers permission to search the room, where they located a Savage .22 caliber long rifle and a 7.35 caliber wooden-stock rifle. The weapons were found on a bed, wrapped in male clothing and positioned next to a bag of medication belonging to Evert Eoff.
