Many people around Lane are asking about the status of Lane Church of Christ. Every time I hear a church closing, my heart sinks. I truly believe the local church is a beacon of light in a world that is increasingly becoming dark. Members report that they have closed the church because the dropping numbers in the congregation brought about a lack of resources and they could no longer afford to hold services. Pastor Brock Marble took the pastor position at South Atoka Church of Christ and the congregation decided to follow him there.

Matt says that they hope to be open by March and that he knows everyone is sad to see the church close. However, he says to “remember that the Lord’s Church has not closed…just this particular building.”
