Community Connections: Southeastern Oklahoma Regional Stockyards

For many in our community, the local sale barn is more than just a place of business, it is a weekly tradition and the heartbeat of the local agricultural economy. That tradition is entering an exciting new chapter under the leadership of Andrew Hardin.

A local through and through, Andrew grew up ranching in the area. With deep family roots, his parents are Larry and Michelle Hardin, and his grandmother, Melba Mobbs, who owns Atoka Feed and Seed, Andrew’s transition to owner feels like a natural homecoming.

Andrew’s path to ownership was paved with both practical experience and a high-level education in the industry. After graduating from Tushka in 2019, he earned an associate degree in Food Safety, Sanitation, and Meat Science from Eastern Oklahoma State College, followed by a bachelor’s degree in Farm and Ranch Management/ Agribusiness from Oklahoma State University.
