Driver Charged After Unoccupied Car Hit by Train

An investigation into a vehicle struck by a train near the intersection of Highway 69 and Highway 131 has resulted in a misdemeanor charge against a local man.

The incident began on the night of Feb. 10 when authorities responded to a second crash at a location previously cleared for a hit-and-run.

Kiowa Police Officer Dalton Whitfield discovered a vehicle that had driven into the median and had been struck by a train. Nearby, officers located Uk Ling, who reportedly smelled of alcohol and was found lying under the overpass.
