This past weekend was full of playoff basketball as Atoka and Tushka began their playoff run with district tournaments while Stringtown and Caney competed in regional tournaments. Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association basketball playoff run this weekend while Stringtown and Caney have advanced to the next round of playoffs.
The Atoka Wampus Cats suffered two losses at Anadarko in the Class 3A Area II District 5 championship on Friday, Feb. 20 with a 32-15 loss for the girls and a 50-29 loss for the boys. Atoka will play in the regional tournament consolation bracket games at Davis on Thursday, Feb. 26.
The girls will open regional tournament play with Dickson at 6 p.m. while the boys will play Davis at 7:30 p.m. With a win, Atoka will play at Tishomingo the remainder of the tournament (Feb. 27-28).
