Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Firearm Charge

A Stringtown man currently on a suspended sentence for burglary is facing a new felony charge after a routine traffic stop on Aug. 4 led to the discovery of a concealed firearm.

At approximately 1:17 a.m., Patrolman Grady Blackwood initiated a traffic stop near East 1st Street and Ohio Street, in Atoka, involving Toby Bucher. Master Patrol Officer Peydon Griffith arrived to assist with the scene and the subsequent inventory of the vehicle.

During the search, officers located a gray backpack in the rear floorboard containing a white SCCY Industries 9mm pistol loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition.
