A Texas man is facing felony charges after being stopped for traveling 85-mph in a 70-mph zone while operating a commercial motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
On the afternoon of Feb. 15, Trooper Jamey Miller observed a white Freightliner speeding and passing other vehicles on U.S. Highway 69 near State Highway 43 West.
After a nearby motorist pointed out the truck's erratic behavior, Miller initiated a traffic stop. As the semi slowed to a halt, smoke was observed billowing from the drive axles.
