For the first time since 1976, the Stringtown Lady Tigers are headed back to the state tournament.

Fifty years after their last appearance, Stringtown punched its ticket with a dominant 43-23 victory over Fort Cobb-Broxton in the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association Class B-I Area II consolation championship on Feb. 28 at Ada.

Now, the Lady Tigers will take the floor on the biggest stage in Oklahoma high school basketball, opening the Class B-I State Tournament against No. 3 Kiowa at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, inside the OG&E Coliseum in Oklahoma City. With a win, the Lady Tigers will face the winner of #2 Seiling/#11 Medford on Friday, March 6 in the semifinal round at 10:30 a.m. The Class B-I state championship game will be conducted on Saturday, March 7 at 10 a.m.
