For the first time in half a century, the Stringtown Lady Tigers stepped onto the biggest stage in Oklahoma Class B-I basketball.
Stringtown made its first state tournament appearance since 1976 on March 5, facing Kiowa in the opening round of the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association Class B-I State Tournament at the newly opened OG&E Coliseum. Although the Lady Tigers fell 49-41, the game marked a historic moment for the program and a memorable experience for the players, coaches and community.
“It means everything. For this program to be back on this stage after 50 years is really special. I’m just proud of our kids, our seniors, and our community,” Stringtown Girls Head Coach Jake Dudley said.
