Southeastern Students, Alumni, And Faculty Present Research at Southwestern Psychological Association Convention

Four Southeastern Oklahoma State University students, along with recent graduates and current faculty members, presented their research at the annual convention of the Southwestern Psychological Association (SWPA) last week, including one award-winning presentation.

Haley Langley, a senior from Durant in the Honors Program and a Parsons Scholar, presented her research titled “Domestic Violence Exposure Before Age 16: Understanding Female Sexual Attitudes and Depression.” This presentation was recognized as a top 10 Poster Presentation in the SWPA Showcase Poster Session and Langley was awarded a scholarship for her outstanding work. Langley is mentored by Dr. Amy Madewell.

Adam Canler, a senior from Durant in the McNair Scholars Program majoring in Psychology, presented his research titled “Risk-Taking Under Scarcity: The Mindset Factor.” Adam is mentored by Dr. Joe Simmons-Rudolph.
