A single-vehicle accident on Friday afternoon, April 17, left an Atoka man injured after his vehicle struck a tree north of State Highway 3.
According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Cold Springs Road, about half a mile north of the highway. Investigators determined that a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Cleyopha R. Cody of Atoka was traveling northbound when it departed from the roadway to the right and impacted a tree.
Cody was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The Highway Patrol report noted that seatbelts were not in use at the time of the crash.
