The City of Atoka is set to upgrade its municipal vehicle fleet and enhance public safety response thanks to a newly announced federal investment. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development office has awarded the city a $99,600 grant aimed at acquiring two new police cars and two essential maintenance vehicles.

The funding is part of a larger $4.2 million infrastructure initiative for Southeast Oklahoma. For Atoka, the grant addresses the critical need for reliable, modern equipment that might otherwise be difficult to secure through the standard municipal budget.

“President Trump is a firm believer in putting our farm and ranch communities first by investing in the very projects farmers depend on to preserve the Oklahoma Ag standard,” said U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Oklahoma State Director Zachary Swartz.
