The sanctuary of the Atoka First Methodist Church was filled with music recently as students and adult performers hosted their annual spring recitals. Under the direction of teacher Malinda Durbin, the programs highlighted a diverse range of musical styles, from classical masterpieces to contemporary hits and traditional hymns.
The Spring Piano Recital took place on Monday, May 4, featuring a series of solo performances by local youth. The evening also served as an awards ceremony to recognize long-term commitment to musical studies.
Layla Henderson and Brinley Wilson were both honored with five-year trophies, marking half a decade of dedication to the piano. The prestigious NFMC Gold Cup was awarded to Madeline Jackson for her continued excellence in musical performance.
