Four local high school graduates were honored as the 2026 recipients of the Jewel Darst Memorial Scholarship during the Atoka County Chamber of Commerce luncheon held on June 4.
Presented by members of the Chamber Board and the Stronger Atoka Foundation, the annual scholarship recognizes area seniors who demonstrate exceptional leadership, a commitment to community service, and a willingness to step forward to help others. This year's recipients include Luke Morris of Atoka, Shalyn Hughes of Caney, Madyson Hauff of Tushka, and Josie Jones of Stringtown.
Applicants were selected based on personal essays detailing how their unique life experiences, volunteerism, and personal challenges have shaped their understanding of leadership.
