At their last school board meeting, Lane Public School hired Alan Cartwright as their baseball coach. Cartwright has an amazing career in baseball.
He played his college ball at Southeastern. In his freshman year, he set a Southeastern team record by hitting .450 and was named to the NAIA All-American Team.
His sophomore and junior seasons were even better under new Savage Coach Mike Metheny. He set records with 27 home runs and 101 RBIs and was again named an NAIA All-American.
