Former Tushka softball coach David Durbin was recognized for a distinguished career on June 5 when he was inducted into the Oklahoma Fast Pitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame during ceremonies at Oklahoma Christian University.
The honor caps an 18-year head coaching career that included three seasons at Coalgate and 15 at Tushka. During that span, Durbin compiled a 503-211 record, guided his teams to eight State Tournament appearances, won two state championships, and finished as state runner-up once.
The induction carries special meaning to him because it represents reaching a level of accomplishment few coaches experience and serves as recognition from fellow coaches across the state.
