The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) has awarded more than $3.2 million in new 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grants. These five-year grants will deliver high-quality out-of-school programs to students and families statewide. With 13 new recipients, OSDE now supports 50 grantees with over $13 million in federal funding each year.
The 21st CCLC initiative delivers academic enrichment and learning opportunities for students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, focusing on high-poverty communities and schools that need targeted support. Programs run before and after school, during summer, and holiday breaks, serving more than 16,000 students annually.
Students benefit from support in reading, math, and tutoring, plus enrichment activities like robotics, chess, debate, art, music, drama, science, college and career readiness, and health and fitness. Families gain access to literacy and educational services that strengthen connections between home and school.
