City Manager’s Report

I received notification on Thursday, September 24th, from the Economic Development Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce that we will be receiving a $5.5-million-dollar grant for a new water tower project that we had applied for several months ago. The total cost of the project is estimated to be between $7-8 million. So, we will have to come up with the difference. I will be searching for other grant opportunities to help offset as much of that as possible.

In case you haven’t noticed yet, Alderson’s Asphalt Services did a great job on sealing the library parking lot, and has repainted several curbs and parking spot lines, etc. It has really made a difference in our downtown area.

I will be attending the monthly Oklahoma Municipal League’s monthly board meeting in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, October 7th.
