President Donald Trump returned to Oklahoma for his first rally in the state in six years, but even some of the supporters who waited hours in the rain to see him questioned his endorsement of Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Mazzei.
“I didn't understand the endorsement that Trump gave Mike Mazzei. I think Mike Mazzei’s kind of a goofball,” said Brooke Thomas, who traveled from Oklahoma City with her mother, Trish Liscom. “I thought, I don't want Oklahoma being represented by this goofball. I really wanted Gentner Drummond.”
Trump arrived by motorcade in the small southeastern Oklahoma city of Durant as Republicans ramped up campaigning ahead of the November midterm elections.
