The Atoka Wampus Cats made a statement on their opening possession with a fast-paced touchdown drive, but untimely turnovers and penalty setbacks proved costly in a 27-6 road battle against the Wilburton Diggers.
Atoka came out aggressive, using a swift no-huddle tempo to march directly down the field after exchanging early defensive stops. Quarterback Ryan Barton anchored the aerial attack, connecting with Konner Ritchie (#17) on a 25-yard strike before finding Donte Harrison (#12) for another 25-yard completion to set the Cats up inside the 5-yard line. After workhorse Gage Crenshaw (#19) hammered the defense on back-to-back carries near the goal line, Ritchie punched it into the end zone for the game's opening touchdown, giving Atoka an early 6-0 lead.
