Kiamichi Tech has started construction on a new Welding Systems Training Center at the Atoka campus, marking a significant investment in workforce development and career training opportunities for students across Atoka and Coal counties. Construction began in September, with the facility expected to be completed in fall 2027.

The new training center will provide students with expanded instructional space, including larger welding booths, and increased hands-on work areas designed to enhance the learning experience.

"Welding continues to be one of the most in-demand skilled trades in our area," said Greg Davidson, Director of Facility Management and Development at Kiamichi Tech. “This project creates more opportunities for students to develop advanced skills in a modern training environ- ment while helping local manufacturers and welding shops build the workforce they need for the future."
