CANEY BASEBALL - wins an Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association Class B District Championship with a 13-0 win over Fort Towson on April 22. At the district tournament, the Cougars also defeated Pittsburg 14-0 and Fort Towson 10-0. In the opening round vs Pittsburg Trevor Jackson led the team in runs batted in with 5, Kenton Ladd pitched 3 innings allowing one hit. He also threw 5 strikeouts and had a home run. Aidan Crites threw 4 innings against Towson in the second game, he allowed 2 hits, 1 base on balls and threw 6 strikeouts. Jackson and Brody Braziell each had 2 hits in the game. Braziell and Colby Hodge had 2 runs. In the championship game against Fort Towson, Parker Nesbitt threw 7 strikeouts, allowed 0 hits and 1 base on ballsin three innings. Hodge and Cooper Willis led the team in hits (2 each) and runs batted in (3 each).
