An Atoka couple is facing allegations of theft after a recent incident at the local Walmart, according to a police report filed by Officer Christian Shomo of the Atoka Police Department occurred on Saturday, April 18, 2025, at approximately 6:50 PM.
Walmart Asset Protection Employee Latrica Workman alerted authorities after store employees noticed a missing smartwatch package. Upon reviewing surveillance footage, Workman identified Kaci Sutterfield, who was wearing bright yellow neon-green scrubs, and her boyfriend as the alleged perpetrators.
According to Workman's statement, the footage showed the man removing a smartwatch from its packaging and discarding the box. The pair then allegedly repeated this action with two watch covers and a Roku silicone sleeve. The report further details that Sutterfield and her boyfriend proceeded to the pet aisle, picked up a dog toy, and went to the self-checkout. After paying for the toy, they allegedly moved towards the garden center.
Workman stated she then observed Sutterfield take an orange lily plant and walk towards their vehicle without paying. Additionally, the man was reportedly seen carrying a fern that also appeared to have not been purchased. The couple then entered their vehicle and left the premises.
Officer Shomo reviewed the surveillance footage and corroborated Workman's account, noting that he was seen removing items while Sutterfield appeared to be aware of his actions.
The officer also noted that the boyfriend entered the store without a smartwatch but was later seen wearing one, suggesting it was taken during the alleged theft. Furthermore, Sutterfield was reportedly observed actively interacting with her boyfriend, pointing out items that he subsequently stole.
The total value of the allegedly stolen items amounted to $92.96, with the orange lily plant taken by Sutterfield priced at $9.97.
