Vandalism Reported at Oregon Street Residence

The Atoka Police Department is investigating a report of property damage to a camper trailer at a residence on Oregon Street.

On April 30, 2025, at approximately 3:58 PM, Sgt. James Riley of the Atoka Police Department responded to a call regarding property damage at 971 Oregon St. Upon arrival, Sgt. Riley spoke with Atoka City employee Bobby Ward and resident Jenlee Williams.

According to Williams, on April 29, 2025, she heard the city's trash truck arrive and then heard the truck's hydraulics before it departed. When she went outside to check on her trash pickup, she discovered that a window on her 2014 Prime Tracer Travel Trailer was broken.

Williams told Sgt. Riley that she was unsure if the trash truck caused the damage or if something else was responsible, as she did not witness the window breaking. She also noted that there were only small pieces of debris present, and no large tree branches nearby.

Ward informed Sgt. Riley that Williams had shown him the location of her trash cans, which were on 9th St., near a tree positioned at the hitch end of the camper trailer. Ward reported that a broken branch was hanging from the tree, which he removed.

Sgt. Riley took a photograph of the tree branch before it was removed, and Williams provided photographs of the broken camper window before she covered it due to inclement weather.

The estimated damage to the camper trailer window is $400.00.

At this time, it remains undetermined whether the damage was caused by a falling tree branch, the trash truck, or another factor. Williams stated that her neighbor has children who play in the area but indicated she did not see them break the window.
