Atoka Alum Smashes Five Home Runs at Regional Tournament

Oklahoma State sophomore Kollin Ritchie, Class of 2023 Atoka graduate, hit five home runs for the Cowboys at the NCAA Athens Regional Tournament May 30 through June 1. Oklahoma State's season ended with a 30-25 record after losing 3-2 to Duke in the regional championship on June 1.

The Cowboys went 2-2 at the regional with a 13-5 win over Binghampton in the losers bracket on May 31 and won 11-9 over #7 national seed Georgia on June 1. Duke opened the tournament by defeating OSU 12-5 on May 30.

Ritchie (outfielder) was one of three OSU players to be named to the NCAA Athens Regional All-Tournament team.

He hit a home run in each of the Cowboys four games at the regional, including a two-run home run to tie the game at 9 against Georgia in the ninth inning. Four batters later, Brock Thompson hit a two-run walk off home run to defeat Georgia 11-9.

Ritchie stats at the regional tournament: Vs Duke - 1-2 at bat (AB) with a home run, 1 run (R), 1 run batted in (RBI) and 1 base on balls (BB).

Vs Binghamton - 3-4 AB, 2 home runs, 2 R, 4 RBI and 1 BB. Vs Georgia - 1-4 AB, 1 home run, 2 R, 3 RBI and 1 BB. Vs Duke - 2-3 AB, 1 home run, 1 R, 2 RBI and 1 BB. In Ritchie's final season at Atoka in 2023, he hit .531 with 43 hits, 11 home runs and 47 RBIs. He was named district most valuable player and was named to the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association All-State Baseball team. In the 2023 MLB (Major League Baseball) Draft, Ritchie was drafted in the 19th round by the Baltimore Orioles.
