From Ditch to Jail: Atoka Stop Yields Drugs, Charges, and a Bearded Dragon

A welfare check on a vehicle found in a ditch Tuesday morning led to the arrest of an Atoka woman on multiple drug charges and for driving with a suspended license.

At approximately 10:45 AM on June 17, 2025, Recruit Officer Trevin Loudermilk and Officer Zachary Rice of the Atoka Police Department were on patrol traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 69 when they observed a white pickup truck in the ditch beside the northbound lanes, south of The Church of Christ.

Officer Rice decided to check on the vehicle and driver to ensure no assistance was needed, turning around and pulling behind the pickup.
