The community of Caney came alive on Saturday, June 28th, for a vibrant Old Settler's Day and Independence Day celebration. The day was packed with activities for all ages, culminating in an evening of music and dazzling fireworks.
The festivities kicked off with a lively parade down Main Street, featuring local participants, side-by-sides or UTVs, and the prominent presence of the Caney Fire Department's ladder truck.
Spectators lined the streets, enjoying the procession, which even included Taylee Hardman, a local young rider on a mini-bull, adding a unique touch to the traditional parade. Floats, such as one from Oklahoma Home & Community Education (OHCE) promoting crafting, showcased local groups while others brought back memories of graduated alumni.
