Alleged Stalking Incident Uncovers Drug Possession

A woman's report of being followed from a gas station led Atoka police to a traffic stop on June 25, 2025, resulting in the arrest of a man for alleged drug possession.

At approximately 9:39 PM, police received a call from a woman who stated a man had made her feel uneasy at a gas station in McAlester. She reported that the man, later identified as Stephon Collins, was waiting for her to leave the store in a white Toyota Tacoma. After she left, she noticed the same truck following her southbound on Highway 69.

The woman told dispatch that Collins would match her speed when she sped up, drive next to her, and then speed up to cut in front before slowing down. Feeling scared, she sped up to pass him, but he reportedly sped up again to stay with her, prompting her to call 911 for help as they approached Atoka city limits.
