Governor Kevin Stitt and the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM) announced that Oklahoma is sending two Type III swift water rescue teams to Texas to assist in the ongoing flood response.
The teams include Oklahoma Task Force 1 members from Tulsa and Oklahoma City, along with boats, trailers, and equipment. They are deploying today in response to a request from the Texas Division of Emergency Management through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC).
Oklahoma also finalized plans to deploy two OEM staff members to help coordinate additional interstate mutual aid requests as liaison officers at the Texas State Operations Center in Austin.
