Suspect Accused of Kicking, Attempting to Headbutt Officer During Arrest

A call regarding an unwanted individual at an Atoka residence on July 7, 2025, led to the arrest of a man on outstanding warrants and subsequent charges for allegedly assaulting and resisting law enforcement officers.

At approximately 7:20 p.m., Sgt. Cody Poe of the Atoka Police Department responded to a residence on North Delaware after dispatch received a request for assistance with an unwanted individual. Upon arrival, officers were informed that Nathaniel Longwell had been asked to leave but had not complied.

Sgt. Poe recalled existing radio traffic from July 5, 2025, concerning active arrest warrants for Longwell through the Choctaw Nation Court. Atoka County Dispatch verified the warrants' status with Tribal dispatch, who confirmed them and also informed officers of Longwell's history of assaulting law enforcement.
