Reckless Semi-Truck Stopped; DUI Investigation Yields Unexpected BAC Result

A multi-agency response was required Wednesday afternoon to stop a reckless semi-truck on Highway 69, leading to an investigation into the driver's sobriety despite a surprising blood alcohol content reading.

At approximately 5:27 PM on July 16, 2025, K9 Officer Julia Storey of the Atoka Police Department was alerted to a semi-truck driving recklessly northbound on Highway 69. Officer Storey located the semi as it exited the Tushka Truck Stop. She immediately observed the truck failing to maintain its lane as it traveled northbound.

Officer Storey initiated a traffic stop, activating her emergency lights. The semi-truck, however, did not immediately yield, prompting a coordinated effort from multiple law enforcement agencies. Atoka officers Cheyenne Gilbert and Joe Doshier, Atoka County Deputy Joe Miklaucic, and Stringtown K9 Officer Keith Knoll provided assistance. Together, officers managed to bring the semi to a stop on Highway 69, across from Starbucks.
