A man was arrested early Sunday morning on charges of firstdegree burglary and public intoxication after allegedly entering a residence and refusing to leave, eventually locking himself in a bathroom.
At approximately 12:50 AM on July 13, 2025, Captain Austin Golden of the Atoka County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a burglary in progress at an apartment on S Big Slough Road. Atoka County Dispatch advised that a caller, Lisa Steer, reported a male individual, wearing gray sweatpants and no shirt, had just entered her residence and was refusing to leave. While deputies were enroute, Steer informed dispatch that the individual had locked himself in the bathroom.
Upon arrival, Captain Golden spoke with Lisa Steer and Glenn Wright. Both stated they were in bed when the male individual, later identified as Justin Tate, entered the residence and proceeded into their bedroom. Steer told Tate to leave, but he refused, then entered the bathroom and locked the door.
