Driver Arrested After Striking Guard Rail

An Antlers man was arrested Thursday afternoon on suspicion of driving under the influence and with a suspended license, after his vehicle reportedly struck a guard rail and continued driving.

At approximately 3:11 PM on July 10, 2025, Patrolman Grady Blackwood of the Atoka Police Department was made aware of an individual driving a vehicle that had struck a guard rail near Texas Avenue while westbound on E Court Street. Stringtown Assistant Chief Keith Knoll, who witnessed the incident, observed the vehicle leave the roadway, hit the guard rail, and then turn south onto S Kentucky Avenue, where he initiated a traffic stop.

Officer Blackwood arrived at the stop location on S Kentucky Avenue near E 7th Street and found a red pickup. The driver, identified as Randy Sutterfield of Antlers, produced an Oklahoma driver's license to assisting officers.
