Durbin Set to be Inducted to HOF on Saturday

Lifelong Atoka resident David Durbin is set to be inducted to the Oklahoma Officials Association (OOA) Hall of Fame on Saturday, July 26. The OOA Induction Ceremony will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on July 26 in the Shawnee High School Performing Arts Center.

Durbin is one of five set to be inducted into the OOA Hall of Fame alongside Terry Porter of Stillwater, Leland Searcy of Woodward, Fred Poteete of Tahlequah and Tommy B. Davis of Oklahoma. They will bring the total of OOA Hall of Fame Members to 159.

“I’m deeply honored to be inducted into the hall of fame. But this honor would not have been possible without the support of others. Mainly my wife, Laura, who was left by herself 5 and sometimes 6 nights a week during basketball season to care for our family of 4 kids. And then there’s the people I officiated with, so many I can’t possibly name. Those are the ones that deserve all the credit and have been the first to send out their congratulations,” Durbin said.
