A Texas man faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence of drugs, after a traffic stop in Atoka for a suspicious license plate led to the discovery of marijuana and an open container in his vehicle.
On July 20, 2025, at approximately 5:07 P.M., Officer Cheyenne Gilbert of the Atoka Police Department was traveling northbound on Highway 69/75 when he observed a white Chevrolet Camaro bearing a suspicious Texas license plate with an incorrect sequence and purchase date layout. Officer Gilbert also noted multiple items hanging from the rearview mirror. He initiated a traffic stop near North Boggy Bridge.
The driver, identified as Oniel Molina-Munoz, provided a passport but no secondary driver's license from another country, indicating he was operating the vehicle without a valid driver's license. Although Munoz had valid insurance, Officer Gilbert detected an odor of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle.
