An Atoka man who reported his wallet stolen from his vehicle had it recovered by the Sallisaw Police Department, which found it during the arrest of two individuals for unrelated charges.

On July 23, 2025, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Eric Hardison came to the Atoka County Sheriff's Office lobby to report a stolen credit/ debit card. According to the report from Officers Joe Doshier and Trevin Loudermilk of the Atoka Police Department, Hardison stated that his wallet was missing from his vehicle after he had been parked at Atoka Public School earlier that afternoon. The wallet contained his driver's license, CDIB cards for himself and his children, an insurance card, a gas card, and $20 in cash.

After discovering the wallet was gone, Hardison contacted his wife, who informed him that two separate $500 charges had been made at a Dollar Tree using his credit/debit card.
