Tushka Lady Tigers Move Up a Class, Seeks a Championship

The Tushka Lady Tigers look to recreate last year’s magical season that ended as the Class A state runner up but this year the team hopes to hoist the championship trophy.

This season will look a little different for the Lady Tigers as they moved from Class A to Class 2A for the next two seasons. While Class A played a district tournament at the end of the season Class 2A has 16 districts of four teams that play during the season, then the first round of playoffs is a regional tournament. Tushka has been assigned to Class 2A District 6 with Christian Heritage, Konawa and Wilburton. The teams will play each other twice during the regular season on the road and at home.

Last season’s 37-8 state runner-up team returns five starters. Tushka lost third baseman/pitcher Chanci Alford, right fielder Beya Simon and catcher Emma Burkhalter to graduation. Shortstop/Pitcher Camden Mack transferred to another school.
