He graduated from Atoka High School with the class of 1964, then received a scholarship playing basketball at Southeastern OK State where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Education.

Gerald was a History Teacher at Atoka, Caney, and Prue Schools. He coached Basketball, and Baseball.

Gerald proudly served his country in The US Navy. He married Sužanne Cornwall on Friday, March 29th, 1974 at Lubbock, TX.

Gerald loved hunting, and fishing with his grandkids. He enjoyed teaching, coaching, was a Cubs Fan, and was always very involved in all school activities. Gerald always had a huge connection to his Atoka classmates, he loved going to reunions. alumni events, parades, and homecoming.
