Johnny Garvin Faulkenberry, 78, of Lane, Oklahoma, passed away on May 28, 2026. He was born on August 19, 1947, in Quanah, Texas, to John Garvin Faulkenberry and Lorene Annis Gentry Faulkenberry.
Johnny proudly served his country in the National Guard. He worked as a Nursing Home Administrator for many years, before becoming a Health Inspector for the Oklahoma State Health Department.
Johnny attended school in Texas, then Iron Stob, he Graduated from Atoka High School, and later earned an Associate Degree from Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton.
On May 14, 2014, Johnny married Reta Jean Watson at Harmony Baptist Church. Together they shared many happy years filled with faith, family, and friendship.
Johnny attended Lane Baptist Church for many years, He was a longtime member of Harmony Baptist Church. He loved teaching Sunday School and was also the church Handyman. He enjoyed woodworking, building, repairing things, gardening, tending flowers, telling stories, and listening to old country music like Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Willie Nelson. He and Reta loved going to McSwain Theater in Ada, they were season ticket holders. He was known for always keeping a beautiful yard and for his willingness to help others. He never met a stranger and could always be counted on for a good story and a friendly conversation.
Johnny is survived by his wife Reta Faulkenberry of the home; son, Tim Faulkenberry of Lane, Ok; daughter, Sommer Millard and husband Sam of Holdenville, OK; granddaughters, Emma Millard, Kyla Collins and husband Landen; great granddaughter, Payson Collins; step-son, Daniel Lansdale and wife Ashley of Madill, OK; step-daughter, Emily Fincher and husband Donny of Caney, OK; step-granddaughters, Trinity, Alyssa, and Jules. Numerous extended families, Church Family, many loved and dear friends.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, John Garvin Faulkenberry and Lorene Faulkenberry; brother, Bob Faulkenberry.
