Dean C. Pearson passed away unexpectedly on July 20, 2026, at home in Lane, Oklahoma with his fur buddy Cash by his side.

He was born May 12, 1967, to Donald and Connie Pearson in Yerington, NV., and raised in Colusa County, California After high school, Dean attended the Yuba College Police Academy, beginning his lifelong career in law enforcement.

Dean devoted many years to law enforcement. Throughout his career, he served in several roles, including with the Williams Police Department, MET, Boat Patrol, the K-9 unit with his partner “Kilo,” and as a Sheriff’s Deputy Coroner with the Colusa County Sheriff’s Department.

His dedication was recognized with numerous honors, including Police Officer of the Year, the Silver Star of Valor, and a Life Saving Award.

Dean retired in 2017 as a Sheriff’s Sergeant for the Colusa County Sheriff's Dept in Northern California.

After retiring, Dean moved to Lane, Oklahoma, with Marte Tubbs and their dogs, Cash and Reba. There, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and caring for their farm animals and cattle.

Dean will be remembered for his sparkling blue eyes, mischievous grin, generous spirit, and kind heart. He loved cooking and baking, cheering on the Seattle Seahawks, and keeping everyone laughing with his pranks and jokes.

Dean is survived by his forever friend Marte Tubbs Mother Connie Pearson of Weed, California Bonus Mom Cherie Nation aka (Deans nickname for her was gramma lama ding dong) of Albion, California Son Lane and wife Katy Pearson of Chico, California Daughter Amie and husband Travis Marchand of Melbourne, Florida Daughter Shannon and husband Dan Hauptman of Palmdale, California Sister Michelle and brother-in-law Mark Troughton of Weed, California Bonus daughter Shelby Tubbs and Manny Velasco of Willits, CA Granddaughter Grace Pearson, whom he never had the chance to meet, but for whom he had already made sure her first pink rifle was ready for her.

Grandsons Conor Marchand, Luc and Brayden Hauptman Bonus grandchildren Zane and Grayson Velasco Nephew Zach Troughton and Fiancé Jessica Hickel of Maxwell, California Niece Kylie and husband Shane Cabral of Maxwell, California Great Niece Kenna Cabral and Great Nephew Casen Cabral Preceded in death by his father Donald Pearson, Uncle Ronnie Heard, and grandparents.

Heartfelt thanks to Brock Hopson for taking Dean in as one of his own, guiding him, and sharing tips, tricks, and advice for finding his way in Oklahoma. You were a father figure to him, and he admired you deeply.

Thank you, Terry Jones, for always being there for Dean—from the day he met you through the very last day of his life. He looked up to you as a brother and cherished the time you shared and the friendship you built together.

To his 'Domino Brothers,” he was truly honored to be welcomed into such a great group of “good ole’ boys.” He cherished the conversations, laughter, and good times you shared, and he especially enjoyed being able to share his cooking with y’all. Those memories and friendships meant so much to him.

To all others of Atoka County that had the pleasure of knowing Dean. Thank you for being a friend and a neighbor.

“You never said you were leaving; you never said goodbye, you were gone before we knew it, and only god knows why.” Until we meet again my friend, you will be deeply missed by your family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be Held on Saturday August 15th, 2026, 3-5pm at Church of the Rock 996 E. Hwy 3 in Lane, Oklahoma
